Etiquette For Parents and Students
To help the flow of the dance studio..please read the following carefully. This will help us all get started on the right foot and have clear communication on how the studio is run!
1. Always being prompt to class. (Preschool-K, no more than 5 minutes prior to class----for ages 7yrs and up at least 10 minutes prior to class for self warm-up.)
2. 2. Being dressed in the proper attire. See dress code sheet. Underwear should not be worn with leotard, no jewelry, and dance shoe laces tied in a knot and tucked into shoes—never in a bow and hanging out. No dress up costumes.
3. 3. Having hair off neck and up. If not long enough, then have hair neatly pulled back.
4. 4. Waiting quietly for their turn to dance. There should be no wrestling and ruff housing in the waiting room. Students and other siblings should sit quietly.
5. 5. Not entering the class if music is playing, and class is in the middle of dance activities if arriving late.
Lis 6. Listening when teacher is talking or giving directions.
6. 7. Always ask before leaving the room for any reason. If student needs to leave early we ask that parents let the teacher know this ahead of time.
7. 8. Never hanging on the ballet barres for any reason.8. Never running or performing gymnastics in the studio or waiting room.
9. 9. Not chewing gum, eating, or drinking inside the studio. Please snack before your class time. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
10 10. Putting trash in proper place----never leave lying around.
11. Always putting away books or magazines. Never taking them home. Taking care of Photo Albums or teachers personal items that may be on display.
13.12. Children are not allowed to wait in the main floor lobby unsupervised.
14.13. Parents please be sure little ones have used the restroom prior to class time starting. (this is very important)
15.14. Parents should stand away from the observation window if it becomes obvious that it is a distraction to the students.
16.15. Parents should always have their child ready for class. Change in the dressing rooms.
17.16. Please do not change younger siblings diapers at the studio----studios are not equipped with diaper pales, etc.
18.17. Parents should always pick up students promptly when the class is over. We are not a babysitting facility, and do not have staff to watch your child after his/her class.
19.18. Parents should not allow other siblings to run wildly in the waiting room.
20.19. Please keep noise levels in waiting room as quiet as possible when class is in session
20. Parents should make an appointment with the director if there are ever any grievances. They should not discuss concerns or problems with the teacher while she is trying to teach class or in the waiting room between classes. Keep communication doors open at all times.
